About Taragarh

The Taragarh fort also known as Garh Beetli (गढ़ बीठली) or AjayMeru Durg. It is the first fort in India which was built on a hill in 7th century by Rajput rulers, 1300 feet above the plains.

It has witnessed number of incidents of medieval history up to independence in 1947. The Taragarh Fort is an amazing instance of human power, courage and endeavor. From the fort a scenic view of Ajmer and nearby villages can be seen.

It is on the highest point in this fort the Dargah Shariff of Miran Sahib is situated.
